Membership - It's for Everyone!
Whether you are a mother or father, midwife or doctor, a grandparent, doula, childcare provider, childbirth educator - if you want NC to be a safer place to give birth we want you as a member! By joining NCFOM you are saying, "I support the goals of the North Carolina Friends of Midwives and I want to take an active role in improving the state of maternity care in North Carolina by seeking licensure for the CPM and autonomous practice for the CNM."
Our goals are:
- Educate the public on the availability of alternative birth options
- Promote the safety of midwifery care
- Legalize Certified Professional Midwives
- Expand access & availability of homebirth CNMs and CPMs
- Publish a newsletter
- Establish a statewide database of midwifery and home birth supporters
- Establish statewide celebration of International Day of the Midwife in May
Membership includes being added to our membership list and our social media groups, privilege to vote in NCFOM elections, as well as our quarterly e-newsletter.
If you agree with the goals of NCFOM, we encourage you to take a few moments and fill out our membership form. After submitting your information you will recieve an email for the purpose of continuing dialog with our membership team. We want to know about YOU, what energizes YOU to seek change, how we can become better because of what YOU offer our oganization.
Membership Levels
Student $15 annually - must be a full-time (12 credit hours) student and provide a copy of your student ID. Grants one (1) vote
Individual $25 annually - grants one (1) vote in NCFOM elections
Family $40 annually - grants two (2) votes in NCFOM elections
Non-Voting - no contribution - no voting opportunity
